An Act to Amend Section Five of Act Numbered One Hundred and Ninety-Eight, Relating to Official Transportation, as Amended by Act Numbered Two Hundred and Thirty-Seven
Act No. 321, enacted on December 18, 1901, amends Section Five of Act No. 198 regarding official transportation. It allows the Civil Governor to authorize the use of a special vehicle for heads of Departments or Bureaus, permitting them to house and stable such vehicles and horses at their residences for official duties. This amendment emphasizes the control of the Insular Purchasing Agent over the vehicle's maintenance and the care of the horses. The Act prioritizes public interest and mandates its immediate effect upon passage.
