Republic Act No. 8625, enacted on April 12, 1998, establishes the Canasujan National High School as an independent institution by separating it from the Valladolid National High School Extension in Carcar, Cebu. The act mandates the transfer of all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records from the former extension to the new school. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with issuing necessary regulations for implementation. Funding for the new school will initially come from the existing appropriations of the Valladolid National High School, with future operational costs included in the annual General Appropriations Act. This law took effect upon its approval, having lapsed without the President's signature.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8625

AN ACT SEPARATING THE VALLADOLID NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL EXTENSION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CARCAR, PROVINCE OF CEBU, FROM THE VALLADOLID NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND CONVERTING IT INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE CANASUJAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1.  The Valladolid National High School Extension in Barangay Canasujan, Municipality of Carcar, Province of Cebu, is hereby separated from the Valladolid National High School in the Municipality of Carcar and converted into an independent national high school, to be known as the Canasujan National High School.

SECTION 2.  The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.

SECTION 3.  All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Valladolid National High School Extension are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Canasujan National High School.

SECTION 4.  The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Valladolid National High School-Barangay Canasujan Extension. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Canasujan National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
