Republic Act No. 8866, enacted on August 22, 2000, establishes the Mayor Bartolome Serut National Agricultural and Trade High School in Madatag, Kabugao, Apayao. The school is intended to provide secondary education along with vocational courses, under the guidance of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) and in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Funding for the school will be allocated in the General Appropriations Act following the law's enactment. The act takes effect upon its approval and aims to enhance educational opportunities in the region.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8866

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AT MADATAG, MUNICIPALITY OF KABUGAO, PROVINCE OF APAYAO TO BE KNOWN AS MAYOR BARTOLOME SERUT NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL AND TRADE HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. There shall be established a national high school at Madatag, Municipality of Kabugao, Province of Apayao to be known as Mayor Bartolome Serut National Agricultural and Trade High School.

SECTION 2. The school shall offer secondary education proper as well as other vocational courses to carry out its objectives as may be authorized by the Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) and in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and other appropriate offices and agencies.

SECTION 3. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act. ADCEaH

SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
