An Act Converting the Third Sub-District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Province of Negros Oriental into a Full-Fledged Engineering District to be Known as the Negros Oriental Third Engineering District and Appropriating Funds Therefor
Republic Act No. 9038, enacted on March 13, 2001, converts the Third Sub-District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Negros Oriental into a full-fledged engineering district known as the Negros Oriental Third Engineering District. This new district will encompass the municipalities of Bacong, Basay, Bayawan, Dauin, Santa Catalina, Siaton, Valencia, and Zamboanguita. Funding for the district's operations will be allocated in the subsequent General Appropriations Act. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways is tasked with creating the necessary rules for implementation, and the Act takes effect upon approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9038
AN ACT CONVERTING THE THIRD SUB-DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS IN THE PROVINCE OF NEGROS ORIENTAL INTO A FULL-FLEDGED ENGINEERING DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS THE NEGROS ORIENTAL THIRD ENGINEERING DISTRICT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Third Sub-District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Province of Negros Oriental is hereby converted into a full-fledged engineering district to be known as the Negros Oriental Third Engineering District.
SECTION 2. The Negros Oriental Third Engineering District shall comprise the municipalities of Bacong, Basay, Bayawan, Dauin, Santa Catalina, Siaton, Valencia and Zamboanguita.
SECTION 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 4. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall promulgate the necessary rules, orders and circulars to implement the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
