An Act Converting the Mapawa Barangay High School in Barangay Mapawa, Municipality of Maragusan, Province of Davao, into the Mapawa National High School Providing Funds Therefor, and for Other Purposes
Republic Act No. 8238, enacted on November 15, 1996, converts the Mapawa Barangay High School in Maragusan, Davao, into the Mapawa National High School. The Act mandates the transfer of all personnel, records, and properties from the Barangay High School to the newly established national high school. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports is tasked with issuing necessary regulations for implementation. Funding for this transition will be included in the General Appropriations Act for the subsequent year. The law took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on February 3, 1997.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8238
AN ACT CONVERTING THE MAPAWA BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY MAPAWA, MUNICIPALITY OF MARAGUSAN, PROVINCE OF DAVAO, INTO THE MAPAWA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. The Mapawa Barangay High School in Barangay Mapawa, Municipality of Maragusan, Province of Davao, is hereby nationalized, to be known as the Mapawa National High School. cd
SECTION 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 3. All personnel, records, equipment, buildings, facilities, and other properties of the Mapawa Barangay High School are hereby transferred to the Mapawa National High School.
SECTION 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval .
