MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 139-A
AMENDING MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 139 DATED DECEMBER 10, 1987, EXEMPTING MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES, THE INTEGRATED NATIONAL POLICE, AND OTHER GOVERNMENT SECURITY FORCES, WHILE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES, FROM THE PROHIBITION AGAINST BEARING OF FIREARMS AND WEARING OF UNIFORMS OUTSIDE OF THEIR CAMPS, GARRISONS OR BARRACKS, DURING THE ELECTION PERIOD
Memorandum Order No. 139 dated December 10, 1987 is hereby amended so that paragraphs five and sixth appearing on page 2 thereof shall read as follows:
"The members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Integrated National Police, and other Government Security Forces, covered by Resolution No. 1933 of the Commission on Elections dated on November 9, 1987, particularly Section 1, paragraph 3(e) and (f) thereof, are hereby exempted from the prohibition to wear their uniforms or bear arms outside the camp, garrison or barracks to which they are assigned or detained, while in the performance of their official duties upon order of competent authority.
"The persons so exempted shall, in accordance with Resolution No. 1933 of the Commission on Elections, shall wear their uniforms as prescribed by regulations."
This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
