Amendments to LOI No. 779 (s. 1978)
Letter of Instructions No. 909, issued on August 8, 1979, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, amends a previous directive regarding allowances and payments to national officials. This amendment exempts members of the Integrated National Police from restrictions that prohibit national government employees from receiving additional compensation from local government units, such as provinces, cities, and municipalities. However, the exemption applies only to amounts exceeding the mandated 18% contribution from local governments as stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 632. This change aims to allow for additional financial support for police personnel.
