LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 732

AMENDING ITEM NO. 2 OF LETTER OF INSTRUCTION NO. 521 AND ADDING ITEM NO. 8 TO SAID LOI

WHEREAS, in order to further clarify instructions given in LOI No. 521, Instruction No. 2 is hereby amended to read: cd

2.  All government agencies planning to undertake new large scale surveys are enjoined to consult with the NEDA, provided that survey with a sample size of less than 500 may be reviewed by the NEDA on a post factum basis.

In order to remove or minimize confusion in the use of related statistics produced by government agencies, the following instruction is added to LOI 521:

8.  The NEDA, thru its Statistical Coordination Office, shall issue such directives as are necessary to agencies concerned to effect proper allocation of statistical functions and responsibilities including the discontinuance of producing and/or publishing particular statistical series (a) already regularly produced, which may be considered either duplicative or of very low reliability, or (b) still planned to be produced by agencies concerned. cdt

The NEDA Director-General is hereby authorized to issue the corresponding specific memoranda or circulars for the effective implementation of the aforementioned instructions. cd
