Amendments to LOI No. 1367 (s. 1983)
On May 31, 1985, President Ferdinand E. Marcos issued Letter of Instructions No. 1464, amending previous importation regulations concerning liquor and wine. This amendment lifted the indefinite suspension on the importation of these items, which had been implemented to address the Philippines' balance of payments issues. The prior restriction that allowed liquor and wine imports only as foreign equity investments in registered export enterprises was removed. The new directive took effect immediately, signaling a shift in government policy regarding imports.
