Amendment to R.A. No. 4206 Re: Prohibition Against Collection of Contributions from School Children
Republic Act No. 4725, enacted on June 18, 1966, amends the earlier Republic Act No. 4206, prohibiting the collection of contributions from students and teachers in public primary, intermediate, and high schools for various purposes, including Anti-Tuberculosis programs and Parent-Teacher Associations. However, it allows for membership fees related to the Red Cross, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. The law aims to protect students from financial burdens while maintaining the integrity of educational programs. The Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on January 6, 1969.
