Amendment to R.A. No. 1134 Re: Longevity Pay to AFP Enlisted Men
Republic Act No. 3725, enacted on June 22, 1963, establishes a longevity pay for enlisted personnel and officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, amending previous legislation. Under this Act, individuals will receive additional pay amounting to 10% of their monthly base pay for every five years of faithful service, capped at 50% of their base pay. Furthermore, the Act provides for back longevity pay for officers for certain past service periods, funded by savings from the Armed Forces' yearly appropriations, but it explicitly excludes enlisted men from receiving back pay for prior service. An appropriation of eighteen million pesos is allocated to implement the provisions of this Act. It will take effect upon approval.
