NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution dated October 3, 2018, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 225335 — (People of the Philippines, plaintiff-appellee, v. Jemar Malto y Navarro, accused-appellant.) — The Court of Appeals elevated the records of this case to this Court on July 18, 2016 1 pursuant to its September 17, 2015 Resolution, 2 which gave due course to the Notice of Appeal 3 filed by accused-appellant Jemar Malto y Navarro.
In its August 17, 2016 Resolution, 4 this Court noted the records of this case forwarded by the Court of Appeals and informed the parties that they may file their supplemental briefs if they so desired.
In its November 28, 2016 Resolution, 5 this Court noted the Supplemental Brief 6 filed by the Office of the Solicitor General and the Manifestation 7 filed by accused-appellant, noting that he would no longer file a supplemental brief.
After an evaluation of the records of this case, this Court resolves to DISMISS accused-appellant's appeal for his failure to sufficiently show reversible error in the assailed Court of Appeals March 31, 2015 Decision 8 warranting the exercise of this Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing, this Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals and AFFIRMS the finding of guilt for the crime of violation of Article II, Section 5 of Republic Act No. 9165. Accused-appellant Jemar Malto y Navarro shall serve the penalty of life imprisonment and pay a fine of P500,000.00. AScHCD
