Updated List of Notified Hand Sanitizers and Registered Topical Antiseptics and Antibacterials

FDA ADVISORY NO. 422-20

 

In the interest of the public health and safety, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby provides a list of notified hand sanitizers under the Center for Cosmetics Regulation and Research, and a list of registered topical antiseptics and antibacterials under the Center for Drug Regulation and Research. The public is hereby enjoined to be vigilant in the purchase and use of these types of products in light of proliferation of unregistered/unnotified products that are offered for sale in the market specially during this time when a state of calamity has been declared due to COVID-19 threat in the country.

Furthermore, the FDA advises the general public to only buy FDA-registered/notified products from reputable establishments. While retailers, hospitals, and other government offices and units are advised to procure these products from FDA-licensed manufacturers and distributors. Consumers are urged to check the product labels for relevant information including, but not limited to, country of manufacture, name and address of company placing the product in the market, manufacturing or expiry date, and instruction for use.

We encourage the general public to check the authorization status of establishments and health products at the FDA website, www.fda.gov.ph.
