Transferring the National Library to the Department of Public Instruction
Commonwealth Act No. 367, approved on August 23, 1938, transfers the National Library from the National Assembly to the Department of Public Instruction. This shift grants administrative control of the library to the Secretary of Public Instruction, replacing the Speaker of the National Assembly's previous oversight. However, the Speaker retains authority to maintain certain personnel and resources for bill drafting and research within the National Assembly. Additionally, any conflicting provisions in previous laws are amended or repealed to align with this Act. The law takes effect upon its approval.
