Transfer of Irrigation Systems

ACT NO. 4008

AN ACT TRANSFERRING THE BARUYEN RIVER IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF BURGOS; THE DIPOLOG IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF DIPOLOG, AND THE PILAR IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN THE PROVINCE OF BATAAN TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF PILAR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

SECTION 1. The Baruyen River Irrigation System in the Province of Ilocos Norte, the Dipolog Irrigation System in the Province of Zamboanga, and the Pilar Irrigation System in the Province of Bataan, are hereby turned over to the municipalities of Burgos in Ilocos Norte, Dipolog in Zamboanga, and Pilar in Bataan, respectively, for operation as municipal irrigation systems under such conditions as the Secretary of Commerce and Communications may impose: Provided, however, That the Dipolog Irrigation System may be abandoned by the municipality of Dipolog with the approval of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications: Provided, further, That all irrigation charges due the Insular Government on the Baruyen River Irrigation System and Pilar Irrigation System at the time of this transfer shall be collected by the Insular Government as provided in the Irrigation Act, as amended.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
