Transfer of Center for Conference Model Development to the Development Academy of the Philippines

LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1457

TRANSFERRING THE CENTER FOR CONFERENCE MODEL DEVELOPMENT TO THE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY OF THE PHILIPPINES

WHEREAS, the Center for Conference Model among others, to fund and manage the meetings of the International Association of Universities (IAU) and related activities;

WHEREAS, the Center was chaired by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports and its term of existence expired on December 31, 1984, after completing the specific purposes for which it was created;

WHEREAS, the research, consultancy, and training functions of the Development Academy of the Philippines make it the logical agency to continue the work of the Center, noting the pivotal role that the Academy plays in the implementation of the public education improvement program funded by the World Bank; cd i

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby Order and Instruct:

1. The personnel and the assets, liabilities, records and other properties and obligations of the Center for Conference Model Development are hereby transferred to the Development Academy of the Philippines;

2. The activities of the Center shall be continued by the Academy as an internal part of its operations, with particular emphasis on the improvement of education management and project development, management and monitoring;

3. With the resources received from the Center, the Academy shall expand its activities and support education management and project administration, through (a) training, (b) project model development and implementation, (c) consultancy in project development, evaluation and management, (d) design and implementation of monitoring systems, (e) servicing project evaluation needs, and (f) other related activities.
