Suspension of Work in Government Offices Due to Typhoon "Milenyo"

On September 27, 2006, Memorandum Circular No. 118 was issued following recommendations from the National Disaster Coordinating Council due to the adverse effects of Typhoon "Milenyo." It announced the suspension of work in government offices located in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Batangas, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan for September 28, 2006. However, agencies responsible for essential services, including health and disaster response, were instructed to continue operations. This circular took effect immediately.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 118

Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) in view of the continuing inclement weather brought about by Typhoon "Milenyo," work in government offices in the National Capital Region, as well the provinces of Batangas, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna and Bulacan, is hereby suspended on Thursday, September 28, 2006.

However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other public services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
