Suspension of Work in Government Offices and School Classes in Metro Manila Due to Inclement Weather
Memorandum Circular No. 64, issued on August 9, 2019, suspends work in government offices and classes in all public and private schools in Metro Manila starting at 3:00 PM due to ongoing inclement weather, following recommendations from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Essential agencies providing basic and health services, as well as those involved in disaster response, are exempt from this suspension and must continue their operations. Private companies and schools are given the discretion to determine whether to suspend work or classes. The Circular took effect immediately and was published in the Official Gazette on September 16, 2019.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 64
Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and in view of the continuing inclement weather, work in government offices and classes in schools (public and private) at all levels in Metro Manila, are hereby suspended effective 3:00 PM today, 09 August 2019.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The suspension of work for private companies, offices and schools is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
