Suspension of Work in Government Offices and Classes at All Levels in NCR and CALABARZON Due to Taal Volcano Eruption
Memorandum Circular No. 74, issued on January 12, 2020, suspends work in government offices and classes at all levels in Region III, CALABARZON, and the National Capital Region on January 13, 2020, following the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) for safety reasons. Essential services, including health and disaster response, are exempt and must continue operations. The private sector is encouraged to also suspend work for employee safety. This Circular took immediate effect and was published in the Official Gazette on January 27, 2020.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 74
Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and to ensure safety, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Region III, CALABARZON and National Capital Region are hereby suspended on 13 January 2020.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The private sector is highly encouraged to suspend work for the safety of their employees.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
