Suspension of Work in Government Offices and Classes at All Levels in Batangas Due to Taal Volcano Eruption
Memorandum Circular No. 75, issued on January 13, 2020, suspends work in government offices and classes at all levels in Batangas starting January 14, 2020, based on recommendations from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). This suspension will remain in effect until further notice from local government units. Essential services, including health and disaster response operations, are exempt and will continue. The private sector is also encouraged to suspend work for employee safety. The Circular took immediate effect and was published in the Official Gazette.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 75
Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and to ensure safety, work in government offices and classes in all levels in the Province of Batangas shall continue to be suspended on 14 January 2010 onwards until further directed by the local government units concerned.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The private sector in the Province of Batangas is highly encouraged to suspend work for the safety of their employees.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
