Suspension of the Administration of the National Veterinary Admission Test (NVAT) Effective Academic Year (AY) 2017-2018
CHED Memorandum Order No. 005-17, issued on February 22, 2017, suspends the National Veterinary Admission Test (NVAT) starting Academic Year 2017-2018. This suspension is based on the need for a review and update of test questions to align with current curricula, as well as an assessment of the NVAT's effectiveness in improving student quality in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. Incoming DVM students may be admitted without the NVAT requirement, although institutions can implement their own admission policies until a CHED-accredited testing body is designated to administer the NVAT. The memorandum is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
