Suspended Implementation of E.O. No. 1046 (August 7, 1985)
Executive Order No. 1053, issued by President Ferdinand E. Marcos on September 5, 1985, suspends the implementation of Executive Order No. 1046, which aimed to enhance the footwear, leather, and leather goods manufacturing industries and establish a development board for these sectors. The suspension is effective immediately and will continue until it is revoked by the President based on recommendations from the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This order reflects the government's shifting priorities regarding industrial development at that time. The details of this suspension were published in the Official Gazette on two occasions in late 1985.
