LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 160

| SUBJECT | : | Directing the Strict Enforcement, Through the Local Governments, of the Government Policy to Keep Rentals Within Reasonable Levels |
In view of the unreasonable increase in rentals of apartments and other dwelling units, which is contrary to the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 20, dated October 12, 1972, I hereby order you to strictly enforce, through the local governments, the policy of the government to keep rentals within reasonable levels to protect the low-income members of our society embodied in Presidential Decree No. 20, which amended Republic Act No. 6359. cdt
I direct you to call upon the city mayors, municipal mayors and the provincial governor to ensure strict and effective enforcement of these laws.
You shall call attention to the penal provisions of the Decree and shall enjoin the local governments to cause the prosecution of violators of these provisions.
