On December 10, 1998, the President of the Philippines issued a memorandum directing all government departments and agencies to compile a comprehensive list of properties they rent or lease, including lands, buildings, and office spaces. This initiative is part of a broader austerity measure aimed at reducing government expenses. Agencies are also required to develop plans to decrease rental costs or suggest alternatives to renting. Completed reports and action plans must be submitted to the Presidential Management Staff by December 29, 1998, and should be notarized for compliance.

In line with the implementation of the government-wide austerity measures, submit a comprehensive list, using the attached form, of all properties (i.e. lands, buildings, office spaces, etc.) rented or leased by your office. Further, formulate a plan on how your office can reduce rental expenses or propose alternatives other than renting/leasing such properties with the end in view of cutting unnecessary or excessive costs to your operations. prcd
