PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1222
SETTING THE PERIOD OF REGISTRATION OF VOTERS PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1187 AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, it is now necessary to fix the period of registration of voters under Presidential Decree No. 1187 entitled, "PROVIDING FOR A GENERAL REGISTRATION OF ALL QUALIFIED VOTERS THROUGHOUT THE PHILIPPINES";
WHEREAS, furthermore, in order to carry out the provisions of the aforementioned decree, it is necessary that funds be appropriated therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, hereby decree:
SECTION 1. Period of registration.— The registration of qualified voters provided under Presidential Decree No. 1187 shall be undertaken on October twenty-nine; thirty, November four and five, nineteen seventy-seven, from seven o'clock in the morning to seven o'clock in the evening.
SECTION 2. Appropriations.— To carry out the objectives of Presidential Decree No. 1187, the amount of Eight million eight hundred fifty thousand (P8,850,000.00) pesos only is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated to be spent under the exclusive authority of the Commission on Elections.
SECTION 3. Effectivity.— This Decree shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 19th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Seven.
