Rules and Regulations for the Use of Uniforms in Public Schools
Act No. 3414, enacted on December 7, 1927, authorizes the Director of Education and the President of the University of the Philippines to establish regulations for student uniforms in public schools and the University. ACT NO. 3414
AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES TO ISSUE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF UNIFORMS IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND IN THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. The Director of Education with the approval of the Secretary of Public Instruction, and the President of the University of the Philippines with the approval of the Board of Regents, are hereby empowered and directed to issue rules and regulations prescribing the use of uniforms by students of the public high schools, secondary trade, agricultural and normal schools and the University of the Philippines respectively. Provided, That preference shall be given to uniforms of Philippine made material whenever possible. aDSIHc
SECTION 2. The superintendents of schools in their respective of divisions shall be given wide discretion in the choice of material and style for such uniform and in the enforcement of the rules and regulations prescribed under the authority of section one hereof to the end that economy may be effected among the students.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect from the school year beginning June, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight.
