Revoking Executive Order No. 493
Memorandum Circular No. 176, issued on May 15, 2009, revokes Executive Order No. 493, which established the Inter-Agency Legal Action Group (IALAG) for investigating, prosecuting, and monitoring national security offenses. Following this revocation, executive officials and employees are prohibited from using Executive Order No. 493 for such purposes. The circular takes immediate effect.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 176
REVOKING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 493
SECTION 1. Following the pronouncement of the President, Executive Order No. 493 dated 17 January 2006 creating the Inter-Agency Legal Action Group (IALAG) is hereby revoked; ACETIa
SECTION 2. Executive official and employee can no longer make use of Executive Order No. 493 in the investigation, prosecution and monitoring of offenses relating to national security;
SECTION 3. This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
