Return of Seat of Government of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga to Brgy. San Vicente
Presidential Decree No. 1441, issued on June 10, 1978, officially transfers the seat of government for the Municipality of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga, from Barangay Sto. Tomas to Barangay San Vicente. This decision is based on the recognition that Barangay San Vicente is more centrally located and accessible to the majority of barangays. PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1441
A DECREE RETURNING THE SEAT OF GOVERNMENT OF STO. TOMAS, PAMPANGA TO THE BARANGAY OF SAN VICENTE
WHEREAS, the original seat of government of the Municipality of Sto. Tomas at the time of its creation was at Barangay San Vicente; aisa dc
WHEREAS, the proposed municipal site at Barangay San Vicente is much more ideally located and is nearer the majority of barangays than the present site;
WHEREAS, as early as July of 1972 a majority of the barangay councils of Sto. Tomas have passed resolutions in favor of the transfer of the seat of government to Barangay San Vicente;
WHEREAS, the Municipal Council of Sto. Tomas cognizant of the desire of the majority of the barangay councils passed Resolution No. 32 dated May 26, 1974, approving the transfer of the seat of government, which resolution was duly approved by the Provincial Board of Pampanga under its Resolution No. 192 dated May 7, 1975; cd
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution do hereby adopt, promulgate and decree as part of the law of the land the following:
SECTION 1. The seat of government of the Municipality of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga, is hereby transferred from its present site at Barangay Sto. Tomas to Barangay San Vicente.
SECTION 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
