Resolution Dated 15 February 2022 in A.M. No. 21-11-25-SC (Re: Proposed Rules on the Use of Gender-Fair Language in the Judiciary and Gender-Fair Courtroom Etiquette)
On March 15, 2022, the Office of the Court Administrator issued Circular No. 55-2022, which informs all First and Second Level Courts about the approval of guidelines for the use of gender-fair language and courtroom etiquette, as resolved in A.M. No. 21-11-25-SC on February 15, 2022. The guidelines aim to promote inclusivity and respect within the judiciary. Any previous circulars that contradict this new directive are now superseded. The circular is effective immediately, and compliance is expected from all concerned parties.

Pursuant to the Resolution dated 15 February 2022 in A.M. No. 21-11-25-SC(Re: Proposed Rules on the Use of Gender-Fair Language in the Judiciary and Gender-Fair Courtroom Etiquette), the Court En Banc resolved to APPROVE the "Guidelines on the Use of Gender-Fair Language in the Judiciary and Gender-Fair Courtroom Etiquette," the full text of which is appended herewith as Annex "A".
Any prior circular from the Office of the Court Administrator on this matter which is contrary to the foregoing is hereby deemed superseded.
This Circular takes effect immediately.
