Purchase of the Original of Dr. Jose Rizal's "El Filibusterismo"
Act No. 3241, enacted on November 27, 1925, authorizes the Secretary of Justice of the Philippines to purchase the original manuscript of Dr. Jose Rizal's novel "El Filibusterismo." The act allocates ten thousand pesos from the Insular Treasury for this purchase, which will be stored in the Philippine Library and Museum as property of the Insular Government. ACT NO. 3241
AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF JUSTICE TO PURCHASE THE ORIGINAL OF DR. JOSE RIZAL'S "EL FILIBUSTERISMO" AND MAKING THE NECESSARY APPROPRIATION FOR THIS PURPOSE
SECTION 1. The Secretary of Justice is hereby authorized to purchase the original of Dr. Jose Rizal's novel "El Filibusterismo," to be deposited in the Philippine Library and Museum, as property of the Insular Government.
SECTION 2. The sum of ten thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be disbursed in its entirety or so much thereof as may be necessary, in the discretion of the Secretary of Justice, for the purchase of the original of "El Filibusterismo."
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
