Proclamation No. 2245, issued on November 26, 1982, declares December 18, 1982, as Plebiscite Day for the Province of Maguindanao. This plebiscite is to determine the ratification of the proposal to transfer the seat of government from Sultan Kudarat back to Maganoy, as per Batas Pambansa Blg. 211. The plebiscite will be supervised by the Commission on Elections and is to be conducted throughout the province, excluding the City of Cotabato. The transfer will take effect only if approved by a majority of votes cast.

PROCLAMATION NO. 2245

DECLARING DECEMBER 18, 1982 AS THE PLEBISCITE DAY FOR THE RATIFICATION OF THE PROPOSAL TO RETURN THE SEAT OF GOVERNMENT OF THE PROVINCE OF MAGUINDANAO FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF SULTAN KUDARAT TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAGANOY

WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 211 returned the seat of government of the Province of Maguindanao from the municipality of Sultan Kudarat to the municipality of Maganoy, which transfer shall take effect upon the approval thereof by a majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be held in the entire Province of Maguindanao not later than December 31, 1982;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 18, 1982 as Plebiscite Day in the entire Province of Maguindanao, excluding the City of Cotabato.

The Commission on Elections shall supervise the conduct of the Plebiscite in the above-mentioned Province in accordance with Batas Pambansa Blg. 211. casia
