Observance of Adoption Consciousness Celebration 2017
OCA Circular No. 32-2017 informs all judges and personnel of designated Family Courts in the Philippines about the observance of Adoption Consciousness Day, established by Presidential Proclamation No. 72. This event occurs annually on the first Saturday of February to promote awareness of the benefits of legal adoption for abandoned, surrendered, and neglected children. The National Organizing Committee, led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), will celebrate from February 11-17, 2017, under the theme "Pagmamahal Palaganapin, Legal na Pag-aampon Ating Gawin!" Family Courts are encouraged to display advocacy tarpaulins throughout February to support this initiative.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 72, issued on 3 February 1999, declaring the first Saturday of February of every year as Adoption Consciousness Day, with the aim of raising nationwide awareness on positive effects of legal adoption of abandoned, surrendered, and neglected children in need of alternative parental care, the National Organizing Committee (NOC) on Adoption Consciousness Celebration led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will spearhead the Celebration on 11-17 February 2017 with the theme "PagmamahalPalaganapin, LegalnaPag-aamponAting Gawin! (Spread Unconditional Love through Legal Adoption)."
In support of this year's celebration, as requested by Ms. Florita R. Villar, Officer-in-Charge, DSWD, in her letter dated 12 January 2017, all designated Family Courts are encouraged to hang Adoption advocacy tarpaulins for the whole month of February. Attached is the lay-out design of the 4x10 feet tarpaulin provided by the NOC for printing reference which may be downloaded from the Office of the Court Administrator website.
