Republic Act No. 8540, enacted on February 23, 1998, establishes the San Jose National High School in Barangay San Jose, Municipality of Osmea, Zamboanga del Norte. The act took effect upon its approval and lapsed into law without the President's signature, as permitted by the Constitution.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8540

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY SAN JOSE, MUNICIPALITY OF OSMEÑA, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. There shall be established in Barangay San Jose, Municipality of Osmeña, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, a national high school to be known as the San Jose National High School.

SECTION 2. The San Jose National High School shall be under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

SECTION 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

* Lapsed into law on February 23, 1998 without the signature of the President in accordance with Article VI, Section 27(1) of the Constitution.
