Maras National High School in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte
Republic Act No. 8647, enacted on May 30, 1998, establishes the Maras National High School in Barangay Maras, Municipality of Sindangan, Province of Zamboanga del Norte. This school will operate under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Funding necessary for the establishment and operation of the school will be included in the General Appropriations Act following its enactment. The Act took effect immediately upon its approval and lapsed into law without the President's signature, as per constitutional provisions.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8647
AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY MARAS, MUNICIPALITY OF SINDANGAN, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, TO BE KNOWN AS MARAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. There shall be established, under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, a national high school in Barangay Maras, Municipality of Sindangan, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, to be known as Maras National High School.
SECTION 2. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
