Lifting of Ban on Sulphur Mining

LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1473

In view of the change in strategy in the government project providing low-cost housing to the people utilizing sulphur as raw material and in order to provide more employment opportunities and at the same time contribute to the nation's economic recovery through the exploitation, utilization and exportation of the sulphur deposits in the country which had been closed to mining location by virtue of Letter of Instructions No. 464 dated September 23, 1967, said ban on sulphur mining is hereby LIFTED. aisa dc
Henceforth, all holders of mining leases and permits shall be allowed to resume operation; and that processing of existing mining claims and new applications for sulphur deposits shall be resumed in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 463, as amended, and its implementing rules and regulations promulgated thereunder. aisa dc
DONE in the City of Manila, this 11th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five.
