Implementation of P.D. No. 468 Re: Importation of Golf Balls
Letter of Instructions No. 195, issued on June 17, 1974, directs the Secretary of Finance and the Commissioner of Customs to implement Presidential Decree No. 468. This decree repeals the 70% advance sales tax on specific sporting goods, including golf balls, polo mallets, and chess sets. As a result, the 2,000 dozens of golf balls imported by the Republic of the Philippines Golf Association, which were being held due to non-payment of this tax, are to be released without the tax obligation. The directive aims to promote sports by easing the financial burden on sporting goods imports.
