Grant of Cost of Living Allowance

SUPREME COURT CIRCULAR NO. 5-86

TO : All Officials and Employees of the Judiciary

RE : Grant of Cost of Living Allowance chargeable against the Judiciary Development Fund (JDF)

From February 1985 to March 31, 1986, the Judiciary was able to generate under the Judiciary Development Fund (JDF), sourced from the increase in court docket fees effective last February, 1985, the amount of P11,767,368.73. Out of this Fund, P9,413,895.00 has been set aside and now authorized for release, as provided in the enabling Act, by Chief Justice Claudio Teehankee to augment the Cost of Living Allowance of the court personnel. For the First time, all officials and employees of the Judiciary will receive this fringe benefit in the following rates:

Court Administrator, Deputy Court
Administrators, Clerks of Court,
Division Clerks of Court, Assistant
Clerks of Court of the Supreme Court,
Justices of the Intermediate Appellate
Court and Sandiganbayan and Judges
of the Court of Tax Appeals and other
inferior courts	P350.00
Personnel receiving salary above
P1,000.00 per month	500.00
Personnel receiving salary of P1,000.00
and below per month	600.00

In a few days you will receive the corresponding amount representing the abovementioned Cost of Living Allowance.
