For Your Honors' information and guidance, quoted hereunder are pertinent portions of COMELEC Minute Resolution No. 10-1091 dated 20 October 2010 exempting justices, judges and prosecutors from the prohibition to carry/bear firearms during the 2010 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election period from 25 September 2010 to 10 November 2010:
"This pertains to the letter dated October 14, 2010 of Atty. Jose Midas P. Marquez, Court Administrator, Acting Chief, Public Information Office, Supreme Court of the Philippines, requesting exemption of the applicant justices and judges from the prohibition to carry firearms outside of their residences during election period in connection with the October 25, 2010 Barangay and SK Elections.

Finding the foregoing request of SC Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez to be meritorious, the Commission RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, to grant the instant request for the exemption of applicant justices and judges, including prosecutors, from the prohibition to carry firearms outside of their residences during election period from September 25, 2010 to November 10, 2010, in connection with the October 25, 2010 Barangay and SK Elections.
Let the Law Department implement this Resolution."
In relation to the above Resolution, all justices and judges who wish to apply for exemption from the prohibition to carry/bear firearms from 25 September 2010 until 10 November 2010 shall fill up the attached CBSFP Form No. 3 (Application for Exemption) which may be directly submitted to the COMELEC to expedite its approval.
