Republic Act No. 2732, enacted on June 19, 1960, establishes the Southern Ilocos Sur Hospital in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, as a twenty-five-bed general hospital under the supervision of the Director of Medical Services. The Municipal Council of Tagudin is responsible for providing the hospital site, while the Secretary of Health is tasked with creating necessary regulations for its operation. An initial appropriation of fifty thousand pesos is authorized for the hospital's maintenance in the fiscal year 1961, contingent upon certification of a suitable building by the Secretary of Health. Future funding for the hospital will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2732

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAGUDIN, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR, TO BE KNOWN AS THE SOUTHERN ILOCOS SUR HOSPITAL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. There shall be under the direct supervision of the Director of Medical Services, a twenty-five-bed general hospital in the Municipality of Tagudin, Province of Ilocos Sur, to be known as the Southern Ilocos Sur Hospital. The site for the said hospital shall be provided by the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Tagudin in consultation with the Director of Medical Services.

SECTION 2. The Secretary of Health shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry into effect the purpose of this Act.

SECTION 3. The sum of fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the maintenance and operation of the said hospital during the fiscal year nineteen hundred and sixty-one: Provided, That no amount herein authorized to be appropriated will be released unless the Secretary of Health certifies that a suitable hospital building is available. Such sums as may be necessary for its maintenance and operation in subsequent years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
