REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4290
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF A SCHOOL OF FISHERIES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAGKAWAYAN, PROVINCE OF QUEZON, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. There shall be established, under the supervision of the Director of Vocational Education, a school of fisheries in the Municipality of Tagkawayan, Province of Quezon, to be known as Tagkawayan School of Fisheries.
SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Fisheries shall be the ex-officio dean of the Tagkawayan School of Fisheries serving in such capacity without additional compensation. Subject to the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Commissioner of Fisheries is hereby authorized to detail to said school such officers and employees of the Fisheries Commission as may be needed, and to employ fishing experts for the purpose of giving instruction to the students therein. cdt
SECTION 3. The Secretary of Education shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 4. There is hereby authorized to be appropriated the sum of three hundred thousand pesos out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-five. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
