Proclamation No. 1897, issued on October 1, 2009, declares October 8, 2009, as a special non-working day in the City of Koronadal, South Cotabato. This date marks the 9th Charter Day anniversary of the city, which became a component city as per Republic Act No. 8803, ratified on October 8, 2000. The proclamation allows the citizens of Koronadal to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies. It is signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo R. Ermita on behalf of then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

PROCLAMATION NO. 1897

DECLARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF KORONADAL, PROVINCE OF SOUTH COTABATO

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8803 dated August 16, 2000, provided for the conversion of the Municipality of Koronadal into a component city to be known as the City of Koronadal and was ratified on October 8, 2000; SCIAaT

WHEREAS, Thursday, October 8, 2009 marks the 9th Charter Day anniversary of the City of Koronadal, Province of South Cotabato;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Koronadal, Province of South Cotabato, be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Thursday, October 8, 2009, as special (non-working) day in the City of Koronadal, Province of South Cotabato.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
