Declaring the Year 2020 as the "Year for the Celebration of the Quadricentennial Anniversary of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran"

DECLARING THE YEAR 2020 AS THE "YEAR FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE QUADRICENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY OF THE COLEGIO DE SAN JUAN DE LETRAN"

WHEREAS, Section 23, Article II of the 1987 Constitution provides that the State shall encourage non-governmental, community-based or sectoral organizations that promote the welfare of the nation;

WHEREAS, the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila, one of the oldest academic institutions in the country, will celebrate its quadricentennial anniversary in 2020; and

WHEREAS, the State recognizes the Colegio de San Juan de Letran's contributions to our history and nation-building, through the formation of individuals who have excelled in various fields, including national heroes, leaders and artists, as well as through community services to the poor and needy;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, do hereby declare the year 2020 as the "Year for the Celebration of the Quadricentennial Anniversary of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran."

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
