DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 1981 AS "TRADE AND INDUSTRY CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH" AND AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COUNCIL (PIBC) TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 1, 1981 TO OCTOBER 31, 1982

WHEREAS, the Republic of the Philippines has been chosen as the site of the 27th World Congress of the International Chamber of Commerce scheduled on November 22-26, 1981 under the auspices of the Philippine International Business Council at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Manila;

WHEREAS, this prestigious world congress of world business organization brings together all sectors of international economic activity — industry, trade, transport, advertising, insurance and finance, — from about 90 countries worldwide; aisa dc

WHEREAS, the proceedings of the Congress will not only contribute to the enrichment of the existing knowledge on international trade and commerce in general, but will also provide opportunities for Filipino practitioners in trade and industry and related areas to interact with leading experts throughout the world;

WHEREAS, this international forum will also contribute to the country's efforts to promote the tourism industry, and prestige and honor to the Philippines and will enhance the image of the country as a leader in the field of commerce in Asia;

WHEREAS, the hosting of the 27th World Congress of the International Chamber of Commerce is a joint responsibility of both the government and the private sectors which requires national teamwork; and

WHEREAS, financial and logistical supports required to insure the success of this vital undertaking;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of November 1981 as "Trade and Industry Consciousness Month", and authorize the Philippine International Business Council (PIBC) to conduct a nationwide fund campaign during the period from November 1, 1981 to October 31, 1982.

I call upon all agencies and instrumentalities of the government and the private sector to contribute generously and participate actively in this campaign and thus help insure the successful hosting of the 27th World Congress of International Chamber of Commerce.
