PROCLAMATION NO. 1675
DECLARING THE MONTH OF MARCH OF EVERY YEAR AS "NATIONAL WOMEN'S HEART HEALTH MONTH"
WHEREAS, the Philippine Heart Association, Inc. (PHA) Council on Women's Heart Health has initiated an ambitious awareness campaign for women's cardiovascular well-being to provide women with tools for them to take appropriate action in the prevention of Cardiovascular disease (CVD); cEDIAa
WHEREAS, CVD is the number one killer of women in the Philippines, claiming more women's lives than all forms of cancer combined;
WHEREAS, while one (1) in thirty (30) women die of breast cancer, one (1) in four (4) succumbs to heart disease;
WHEREAS, in order to give encouragement to more individuals and organizations to join forces with advocates of women empowerment towards a healthy heart, it is proper to celebrate a "National Women's Heart Health Month".
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of March of every year as "National Women's Heart Health Month".
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
