PROCLAMATION NO. 2209
DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 1982, AS A NON-WORKING SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN MANILA
WHEREAS, every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24, as "Araw ng Maynila", marking the founding of the city as the premier Christian City of Asia; and
WHEREAS, the residents of Manila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, June 24, 1982, as a non-working special public holiday in Manila. acd
