PROCLAMATION NO. 1768

DECLARING FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALACA, PROVINCE OF BATANGAS

WHEREAS, Saturday, May 23, 2009, marks the birth anniversary of General Eleuterio Marasigan, a great Calagueño and a patriot of libertarian struggle in the Province of Batangas;

WHEREAS, to enable the people of the Municipality of Calaca, Batangas, celebrate the occasion, the Sangguniang Bayan of Calaca, Batangas, requested that Friday, May 22, 2009, be declared as special (non-working) day instead of May 23, 2009, which falls on a Saturday;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Calaca, Province of Batangas be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Friday, May 22, 2009, as special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Calaca, Province of Batangas.
