PROCLAMATION NO. 782

DECLARING MONDAY, 05 AUGUST 2019, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCES OF NORTHERN SAMAR, EASTERN SAMAR, AND WESTERN SAMAR

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino was born on 05 August 1890 in Calbayog, Western Samar;

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino served as Senate President from 1946-1949 and is considered the pride of all Samareños for his significant contribution to nation-building, and for being instrumental in the passage of significant legislation and the implementation of programs and policies that especially benefited the people of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar;

WHEREAS, on 05 August 2019, Monday, the Provinces of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar will mark the celebration of Jose Avelino Day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Provinces of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Monday, 05 August 2019, a special (non-working) day in the Provinces of Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Western Samar. HTcADC
