Declaration of June 19 as 'Araw ng Surigao del Sur'
Republic Act No. 7671, enacted on January 10, 1994, designates June 19 of every year as "Araw ng Surigao del Sur," a special non-working holiday for the province. This holiday commemorates the establishment of Surigao del Sur as a province under Republic Act No. 2786, approved on June 19, 1960. The law became effective immediately upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on April 25, 1994. It lapsed into law without the President's signature, in accordance with the Philippine Constitution.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7671
AN ACT DECLARING JUNE NINETEEN OF EVERY YEAR AS 'ARAW NG SURIGAO DEL SUR' AND SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE
SECTION 1. The Province of Surigao del Sur was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 2786 which was finally approved on June 19, 1960. acd
SECTION 2. June Nineteen of every year is hereby declared as "Araw ng Surigao del Sur" and consequently a special non-working holiday in the entire province. aisa dc
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
