Creation of San Vicente, Palawan
Republic Act No. 5821, enacted on June 21, 1969, establishes the Municipality of San Vicente in the Province of Palawan. It separates the barrios of Binga, New Canipo, Alimanguan, New Agutaya, and various barrios from San Vicente to Caruray from the municipalities of Taytay and Puerto Princesa to form this new municipality. The seat of government is designated at the site of the barrio of San Vicente. The first local officials, including the mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors, will be elected in the upcoming general elections. This Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on February 2, 1970.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5821
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN VICENTE IN THE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN
SECTION 1. The barrios of Binga, New Canipo, Alimanguan and New Agutaya, now in the Municipality of Taytay and all barrios from San Vicente to Caruray in the Municipality of Puerto Princesa, Province of Palawan, are separated from said municipalities, and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality, to be known as the Municipality of San Vicente, same province. The seat of government of the new municipality shall be in the present site of the barrio of San Vicente. casia
SECTION 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be duly elected in the next general elections for local officials.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
