Creation of Municipality of San Sebastian, Samar
Republic Act No. 543, enacted on June 17, 1950, establishes the municipality of San Sebastian in the Province of Samar by reconstituting several barrios from the municipality of Wright. The new municipality will have its government seat in the barrio of San Sebastian. Initially, the municipal mayor, vice mayor, and councilors will be appointed by the President of the Philippines until subsequent elections are held. The municipality will officially exist once the President issues a proclamation and the appointed officials are qualified. The Act takes effect upon its approval.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 543
AN ACT RE-CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN SEBASTIAN, PROVINCE OF SAMAR
SECTION 1. The barrios of San Sebastian, Jitaasan, Dolores, Camanjagay, Bontod, Campidasa, Campiyak, Maslog, Balogo, Maropangpang, Binongtoan, and Bolwan, within the municipality of Wright, Province of Samar, together with the sitios under their jurisdiction are constituted into a new and separate municipality to be known as the municipality of San Sebastian, with the seat of government in the barrio of San Sebastian.
SECTION 2. The municipal mayor, vice mayor and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines to hold office until their successors are elected and have qualified. cd i
SECTION 3. The municipality herein established shall begin to exist on the date fixed in proclamation to that effect by the President of the Philippines and upon the appointment and qualification of its officers.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
